ABOUT

Our History

Ride for SickKids is an annual SickKids Leaders (SKL) signature event that grafts the growing mainstream popularity of motorcycle riding to a great cause. For the past 16 years, we have tirelessly worked at creating a fun, exciting, profitable charity event and we have far succeeded our greatest expectations. Through the work and dedication of the Ride for SickKids committee, volunteers and participants, we are happy to report that we have raised more than $1,000,000.00!

To ensure the high quality of clinical care and research provided by SickKids continues, the SickKids Foundation launched a 1.3-billion-dollar campaign to build new, state-of- the-art hospital. The largest fundraising campaign in Canadian healthcare history, The SickKids vs Limits Campaign is three quarters to the finish line! The Ride for SickKids is proud to be a part of this journey. With the help of generous sponsors and supporters, we are confident that you can help us reach our NEXT MILLION DOLLARS!

To continue our success, the Ride for SickKids relies on the generous support of donors and corporate sponsorships.

We hope that you will consider supporting the Ride for SickKids in our fight to make a difference in the lives of children.

At SickKids, we imagine every child. healthy. On behalf of the many young patients and their families, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your consideration in supporting our event.

Together we ARE making a difference!

I discovered my passion for motorcycle riding in 2007.  Long rides through beautiful country roads, with no end in sight, helped me get through many trying times in my life. It empowered me. Helped me believe in myself and realize the sky is the limit for me and my children.

In 2009, I decided to marry my love of riding with my passion for helping children in need. I founded the Ride for SickKids, a charity ride in support of SickKids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. Through my 25+ year career working with children with special needs, I knew first-hand how special this hospital is.

Over the years, the event has grown into a parade of 600+ bikes gathering to raise money to support the little warriors fighting for their lives at SickKids, while doing what they love best: RIDING!

I am overwhelmed with feelings of gratitude and fulfillmentas I lead the spectacle of bikes through the scenic roads; knowing that behind all the fun, we are making a difference.Second only to my three beautiful children, the Ride for SickKids is what I am most proud of in my life.

Thank you all for your support,

Nella Figliano
